Do things right from the very beginning.

Holy cow! I started a business this year. Literally, my LLC application was approved on January 6th. In the planning stages, though, I’ve realized that our world has gotten to this point because we’ve half-assed a lot of stuff. I refuse (or resolve, whatever works for you) to diligently do things right the first time: taxes, licenses, invoices, or the jobs themselves. I won’t be proud of the job I’ve done if it’s not.

Life wouldn’t be what it is if there wasn’t room for mistakes, but why not avoid the big ones? Why not put in 110% at the beginning?

Food for thought: when you’re building a house, don’t take shortcuts. The house will cost more money, break more often, or, God forbid, collapse entirely. Do it right.
